HIDDEN VALLEY LAKE, Calif. – Branch 133 of the Sons In Retirement will hold its next meeting on Friday, July 19.

The group meets at Greenview Room, Hidden Valley Lake Golf Course, 19210 Hartman Road, on the third Friday of each month.

The meeting starts at 11 a.m., with lunch served at noon.

Sons In Retirement is a social organization for men of retirement age who are pursuing the goal of enjoying their later years. It has 142 branches with 18,000 members throughout the state.

LAKEPORT, Calif. – A ribbon cutting and dedication of the new “Jane Barnes Field” sign at Westside Community Park will take place on Thursday, July 25.

The event will take place from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the park, 1401 Westside Park Road in Lakeport.

The sign is in memory of the late Jane Barnes, a longtime community member and youth advocate whose family has been one of the largest donors to the park’s development.

The ribbon cutting will take place at 6 p.m.

Refreshments will be served.

CLEARLAKE, Calif. – The Clearlake Planning Commission’s regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday, July 16, has been canceled.

The commission is next scheduled to meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 6, in the council chambers at Clearlake City Hall, 14050 Olympic Drive.

KELSEYVILLE, Calif. – The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, Flotilla 88 of Lake County, will meet on Saturday, July 27.

The meeting will begin at 9 a.m. at the Konocti Bay Sailing Club building located at Braito's Marina at the end of the Buckingham Peninsula in Kelseyville.  

The meeting is open to anyone 17 years or older who would be interested in joining this active group.

LUCERNE, Calif. – A caregiver support group for families dealing with memory loss or other cognitive impairments will meet on Thursday, July 18.

The group meets at the First Lutheran Church, 3863 Country Club Drive across from the Lucerne Alpine Senior Center, from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Social worker Jenny Johnson is the facilitator.  

The group is sponsored by Redwood Caregiver Resource Center (1-800-834-1636) and the Social Day Programs in Lake County.
