LAKEPORT, Calif. – The Lake County Association of Realtors showed it continued support for Save the Lake, Yes on Measure S with several members attending the Sept. 19 fundraising dinner at the Riviera Hills Country Club in Kelseyville.

Past President Anita McKee and Committee member Tom Harty did an excellent job arranging the event that featured keynote speakers Supervisor Anthony Farrington and biologist Jim Steele.

McKee also spoke to the reasons that the measure is important to Realtors.

“Realtors are spending their time and dollars promoting Measure S because we care about the prosperity of the people in this County and their property values,” McKee said. “We are also very concerned about the impact the quagga mussel would have on local water systems and the potential for massive increases in the water bill of residents.”

The event drew more than 100 people and included a silent auction and other prizes.

The Riviera Hills Country Club provided a tasty Italian dinner and participants danced the night away under the stars on a very comfortable September evening while they overlooked Clear Lake.

The Jim Williams Band along with Realtor David Neft provided tunes throughout the night.

Measure S is a half-cent sales tax that would support programs that benefit Lake County watershed.

It is a specific tax, which means it would require a two-thirds majority vote and if passed, by law, the revenues could only be used for those specific purposes. The tax revenues could only be used in Lake County.
