LOWER LAKE, Calif. – The first meeting of the Museums of Lake County Tribal Advisory Committee will occur on Tuesday, July 11.
The meeting will begin at 10 a.m. at the Historic Schoolhouse Museum in Lower Lake.
Any American Indian interested in volunteering to be a member or interested in learning more about the Tribal Advisory Committee is welcome to attend.
Meetings will be held monthly on the second Tuesday at 10 a.m.
UPPER LAKE, Calif. – The History Roundtable will hold its next meeting on Monday, July 10.
KELSEYVILLE, Calif. – Ever wonder about Clear Lake, which Lake County relies on for drinking water and recreation?
On Saturday, July 29, the Clear Lake State Park Interpretive Association’s Summer Speaker Series will host Greg Giusti, whose talk is titled, “What Do We Know About Clear Lake?”
The program will begin at 1 p.m. in the visitor center at Clear Lake State Park, located at 5300 Soda Bay Road.
Giusti recently retired as Lake and Mendocino County director and advisor for forests and wildland ecology.
He has a master’s degree in ecology from San Francisco State University, and is a specialist in forest management, wildlife management, vertebrate pest management, wetlands, watersheds, fisheries and freshwater ecology.
The Summer Speaker Series, sponsored by Clear Lake State Park Interpretive Association, is open to the public and admission is free to enter the park for those attending this session.
The visitor center, with fascinating information about what can be found in the park, will be open for business from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. that day.
Come and test your knowledge of the lake we live near, and enjoy the air-conditioned comfort as well as the beauty of Clear Lake State Park.

NORTH COAST, Calif. – Caltrans reports that the following road projects will be taking place around Lake County and the North Coast during the coming week.
Included are Mendocino County projects that may impact Lake County commuters.
LAKE COUNTY
Highway 29
– PG&E has been granted a Caltrans Encroachment Permit for utility work near Scotts Creek on Tuesday, July 11. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays.
Highway 175
– Emergency highway repairs from east of Forest Lake Road will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays. Motorists should anticipate 15-minute delays.
MENDOCINO COUNTY
Highway 1
– PG&E has been granted a Caltrans Encroachment Permit for utility work near Haven Rock Drive on Thursday, July 13. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays.
– PG&E has been granted a Caltrans Encroachment Permit for utility work near Old Stageroad Drive on Wednesday, July 12. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays.
– AT&T has been granted a Caltrans Encroachment Permit for utility from Navarro Ridge Road to Spring Grove Road beginning Monday, July 10. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays. LC#P1FA
– Emergency work north of the Westport North Bridge will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays.
– Emergency storm damage repairs south of the Wages Creek Bridge will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays.
Highway 101
– Routine maintenance near Frog Woman Rock will continue. Northbound traffic will be restricted to one lane 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Motorists should anticipate minor traffic slowdowns.
– Emergency work near Ridgewood Ranch Road will continue. Traffic will be reduced to one lane in both directions 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Motorists should anticipate minor traffic slowdowns.
– Bridge repairs at the Haehl Overhead Bridge will continue. A southbound lane closure will be in effect at all hours. Motorists should anticipate minor traffic slowdowns.
– Emergency pavement repairs from Long Valley Creek to the Empire Camp Rest Area will continue through Tuesday, July 11. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Monday evening through Saturday morning. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays.
– Drainage repairs from 2.8 miles south of Rattlesnake Summit to Bell Springs Road will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. weekdays. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays.
– Emergency work near Hermitage Vista Point will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect 24 hours a day, seven days per week. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays.
– Emergency slide removal near the Dora Creek Bridge will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Motorists should anticipate 20-minute delays from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. weekdays, and 15-minute delays at other times.
– Emergency slide removal near Piercy will continue. Traffic will be reduced to one lane in both directions 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Motorists should anticipate minor traffic slowdowns.
Highway 128
– Roadway repairs west of Yorkville will continue. One-way traffic control with a temporary traffic signal will be in effect 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays.
Highway 162
– Emergency storm damage repairs near Sand Bank Creek will continue. One-way traffic control with a temporary traffic signal will be in effect 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays.
Highway 175
– Emergency storm damage repairs at various locations from 1.7 miles east of Buckman Drive to the Lake/Mendocino County line will continue. One-way traffic control with a temporary traffic signal will be in effect 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Motorists should anticipate 30-minute delays.
Highway 253
– Highway repairs near Singley Cattlepass will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays. Motorists should anticipate 15-minute delays.
The Caltrans Traffic Operations Office has reviewed each project and determined that individual project delays are expected to be less than the statewide policy maximum of 30 minutes, unless noted otherwise above.
