LAKEPORT, Calif. – The 2015 Summer Concert Series is scheduled to begin on Friday, June 19.

All concerts start at 6:30 p.m. at Library Park, 222 Park St.

The weekly summer event is a two-decade tradition in Lakeport.

The concert series schedule is as follows, and includes the names of the artists and their genres:

– Friday, June 19: Brad Wilson, rockin blues.   

– Friday, June 16: II Big, rock.

– Friday, July 3: Gator Nation, gator beat.

– Friday, July 10: Decades, nostalgic rock and roll.

– Friday, July 17: LC Diamonds, classic hits.

– Friday, July 24: Chad Bushnell, country.

– Friday, July 31: Bill Noteman and the Rockets, rock and blues.

– Friday, Aug. 7: Funky Dozen, disco/funk/soul.

– Friday, Aug. 14: Tom Rigney & Flambeau, Cajun rock and blues.   

– Friday, Aug. 21: Daniel Castro, blues.

LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – All branches of the Lake County Library will present summer story times for children now through the end of August.

Lakeport Library also holds a story time in Library Park.

Tuesdays at 2 p.m. is the time for Middletown Library’s story time. The library is located at 21256 Washington St. Call the library at 707-987-3674 for more information.

On Wednesdays at 4 p.m. the Redbud Readers, a group for tweens and teens, meets at Redbud Library at 14785 Burns Valley Road in Clearlake. Call the library at 707-994-5115 for more details.

LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – The Board of Directors of Lake County PEG TV is providing notice to Lake County citizens who wish to serve on the board as the public member or education member.

Lake County PEG TV (LCPTV) is a public agency created by a joint powers agreement between the city of Clearlake and the county of Lake to provide a local public, education and government television station serving Lake County and operating under federal, state and local laws and regulations. 

LCPTV’s Web site is www.lcptv.org .

The LCPTV Board of Directors meets on the second Wednesday of each month at city hall in Clearlake or Lakeport. Board members serve as volunteers and do not receive compensation.

The appointments are for two public members – one of whom has been designated as the education member – who are appointed by the other three LCPTV Board members. 

A member must reside within Lake County – including the territory in the city limits of Lakeport and Clearlake – to complete a two-year term of office which will expire in January 2017. 

A public member must be able and available to regularly attend LCPTV Board meetings and may be removed for chronic absence.

No officer or employee of the county or any city within Lake County is allowed to sit as a public member on the LCPTV Board of Directors.

LAKEPORT, Calif. – The Lakeport Public Works Department reported that there will be road maintenance work taking place this week on Lakeport Boulevard and South Main Street.

The work is scheduled to be done from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, June 8, through Thursday, June 11.

Traffic control measures will be in place, and drivers are told to expect delays.

MIDDLETOWN, Calif. – A June computer workshop will help you learn and maximize your use of Windows 8.1 and also give you a preview of what Windows 10 has to offer.

If you want to be more productive, this workshop is for you.

The workshop will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 27, at 15642 Armstrong St. in Middletown in the Jazzercise Center (two blocks behind the post office).

The presenter of the computer workshop, Mark Rudiger, is the owner of Lake County Websites & Computer Repair in downtown Middletown and has more than 18 years of experience installing, trouble-shooting, and working with computers.

You will learn how to:

· Install the free anti-virus that comes with Windows 8.1.

· Customize your desktop and tiles to get to your favorite programs faster.

· Learn how to use the new Internet browser more efficiently.

· Pin any of your favorite Web sites to your start screen.

· Easily install the free Windows 8.1 applications.

· Work with multiple windows at the same time.

· Use the new features in Windows 8.1 and find out more about Windows 10.

Rudiger also will present information on the different computers and tablets available with Windows 8 and whether changing operating systems might be the right move for you.

If you have a laptop, bring it along and connect to the high-speed Internet. If you don’t, you can follow along on Rudiger’s laptop screen, which will be projected on a 120-inch screen.

UPPER LAKE, Calif. – The Lake County Library and the Friends of the Lake County Library will share a booth at Wild West Day in Upper Lake Saturday, June 6. 

The library is giving away free books, signing children up for the summer reading program and registering new library cards. 

The Friends of the Lake County Library will be registering new members and selling book bags. The public is invited to stop in at the library booth near the coffee shop and learn more about what the Lake County Library and the Friends do.
