MIDDLETOWN, Calif. – The seventh annual Middletown Lioness Christmas Craft show will take place this November, and the club is reminding crafters to sign up to participate.

The event will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 21, and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 22, at the Lions community building, located at 15299 Central Park Road.

There will be quality crafts, a bake sale, great raffles throughout both days and a change to bring gold for cash.

MIDDLETOWN, Calif. – The Middletown Area Town Hall (MATH) group will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 14.

The meeting will take place in the activity room at the Middletown Community Center, 21256 Washington St.

The public is invited to attend.

The group will receive an update from the California Highway Patrol on traffic safety and enforcement,  and there will be discussions of nonprofit status for MATH, an arborist that is required for utility tree work and pot holes on the Dry Creek Cutoff.

MATH meetings are subject to videotaping. Meeting proceedings may be available for viewing on public access television and/or the Internet.

MATH – established by resolution of the Lake County Board of Supervisors on Dec. 12, 2006 – is a municipal advisory council serving the residents of Anderson Springs, Cobb, Coyote Valley (including Hidden Valley Lake), Long Valley and Middletown.

The group’s current board of directors include Chairman Fletcher Thornton, Vice Chair Claude Brown, Secretary Ken Gonzales, and members Tom Darms and Laura Helton.

LAKEPORT, Calif. – Lakeport Public Works reported that road closures on certain city streets are planned on Monday, Aug. 11, and Tuesday, Aug. 12.

The closures will take place from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on N. Brush Street from Fourth to Sixth streets and on Fifth Street from N. High to N. Tunis streets.

Road closures and traffic controls will be in place while this work is being completed.

Motorists are advised to expect delays and please use caution when traveling in the area or whenever possible to use alternate routes.

CLEARLAKE, Calif. – A caregiver support group for families dealing with memory loss or other cognitive impairments will meet on Wednesday, Aug. 13.

The group meets at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 14310 Memory Lane in Clearlake from 9:30 to 11 a.m.

Social worker Jenny Johnson is the facilitator.

The groups are sponsored by Redwood Caregiver Resource Center (1-800-834-1636) and the Social Day Programs in Lake County.

MIDDLETOWN, Calif. – The Acme Foundation will hold its 16th anniversary Celebration of Caring fundraiser on Sunday, Sept. 14, at the Twin Pine Casino and Hotel Event Center.

The fundraiser is $35 per person and will include music by John Zimmerman and a champagne
lunch.

To attend prepaid reservations are required by Sept. 1. No reservations will be taken at the door.

A silent auction and Disney ticket raffle will be held. The lucky winner will win four tickets to Disneyland and the California Adventure, as well as four tickets to the Disney Museum.

Tickets for the raffle are $5 each or six for $20 and ticket holders do not need to be present at the fundraiser to win.

LAKEPORT, Calif. – The Lakeport Senior Activity Center will hold its second annual “Hot August Nites” dinner and dance fundraiser on Friday, Aug. 15.

The event will take place from 6 to 9 p.m.

Evening highlights will include music from the LC Diamonds, burgers and hot dogs, a full bar, raffle, door prizes, silent auction, photo booth, celebrity impersonators and much more.

Tickets cost $15 per person and are available at the senior center, located at 527 Konocti Ave.
