Kelseyville Pear Festival canceled for 2020

KELSEYVILLE, Calif. – The organizers of the Kelseyville Pear Festival announced Saturday that they are canceling this year’s event.

“It is with a very heavy heart that we have to announce that the 2020 Kelseyville Pear Festival is canceled,” the group said in a Saturday Facebook post. “Although restrictions are starting to loosen a bit within our County, the general consensus is that large groups, such as fairs and festivals are not going to be allowed anytime within the balance of the year.”

The organizers concluded, “We look forward to getting started by this time next year to produce an incredible festival for 2021.”

In announcing the extension of the county’s shelter in place order on Friday, Public Health Officer Dr. Gary Pace said he did not think events involving large groups would be allowed to resume for several months.
