CASA of Mendocino County announces new volunteer training, orientation

MENDOCINO COUNTY – The Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Mendocino County is now accepting reservations for their next new volunteer orientation.

There are three time slots available to choose from: Thursday, March 18, 5:45 p.m. to 7 p.m.; and on Friday, March 19, 8:30 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. or 12:15 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Attending this orientation is the perfect way to find out more about becoming a CASA advocate; it is also the first segment for the new volunteer training.

Children who are assigned to CASA are of all ages, backgrounds and ethnicities, yet they share some sad similarities: they have been victims of abuse or neglect, and are usually removed from their family homes and made dependents of Mendocino County.

Though many organizations get involved, Court Appointed Special Advocates are trained to act objectively and independently from other agencies to help insure that each CASA child’s needs and wishes are heard and considered by the court. CASA advocates make a difference, one child at a time.

Reserve your space at one of the orientation times by calling the CASA office at 707-463-6503, or e-mail CASA at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. .
